Ranking

With over 50 games played over the past weekend, there has been a ton of movement in the final WCLO National Ranking before seeding for Nationals. The top 8 remain relatively unchanged, Loyola Maryland continues to hold the top spot where they have been affixed all season. Navy holds steady at #2, GVSU claims #3, and High Point and Fairfield round out the Top 5. Beyond the Top 10, we see a ton of realignment. Fordham picks up the biggest movement of the week climbing 6 spots from #16 to #10. Towson, who has been heavily impacted all season long in major swings in the polls, moves back up 4 spots to #9 after being tied for #13 last week. 

This week, we have expanded the poll to include the Top 25 teams which included several ties towards the bottom of our list.

Newcomers to the poll this week include #15 George Washington after pulling off a 16-15 victory over Georgetown. Dartmouth also rejoins the conversation tied at #18 after finishing the regular season 7-1. Salisbury, Tufts, and Marist round out the teams rejoining the poll this week.

Week 7 may have little movement amongst our Top 20, but it is setting the stage for the biggest weekend across the WCLO. This coming week is the last week of regular season competition prior to regional playoffs. The week features 2 matchups Tuesday, 1 Thursday, 2 Friday, 43 Saturday, and 33 Sunday with many of the Top 20 teams seeing games.

The US Naval academy solidified their place at #2 after picking up 2 wins against #10 William and Mary and #13 Towson over the weekend. Receiving votes for the first time this season is the College of Holy Cross after picking up a win against #11 WPI. The two will face off in a rematch on Tuesday. William and Mary moves up a spot to #10 after defeating Towson 10-7.

Week 6 of the WCLO National Rankings was a busy one! 56 total games took place across the WCLO with many upsets shuffling our Top 20 for this week.

Loyola Maryland remains on top at 6-0 with no signs of slowing down. They finish off their regular season with a game against #2 US Naval Academy and UMBC. The Hounds have yet to lose a game while under the WCLO. Grand Valley State moves up one spot to 4th after defeating West Virginia University 15-3 on Sunday. Syracuse pulled off the biggest jump of the week moving up 9 spots to #8 after pulling out a 9-6 upset over last year's quarterfinalists #10 Binghamton University. Georgetown University rounds out our weekend of Top 20 upsets with a thrilling 12-11 win over William & Mary moving them up to #14 and dropping William and Mary one spot to #11. 

#7 University of St. Thomas moves up a spot again this week bringing them within reach of the top 5. They are one of three teams in the top 20 who are still undefeated this season at 6-0.

There were also three newcomers to the poll this week; #16 Fordam University, #17 Sacred Heart University, and #18 University of Dayton. Fordam University is 4-1 on the season with wins against Hofstra, Stony Brook, and a 14-10 win over Sacred Heart. Their lone loss of the season is to #5 Fairfield 11-8. Sacred Heart joins the ranks with a 5-1 overall record with wins against Stony Brook, Central Connecticut, WCLA D2 Quinnipiac, and NYU. University of Dayton checks in with a 4-4 record so far in 2024, after having to miss a tournament early on in the season, they seem to have turned a corner winning 4 of their last 5 matchups against Mount Vernon, WCLA D1 Miami of Ohio, Buffalo, and Taylor.
