WELCOME TO THE Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Organization (WCLO)

Welcome!

The Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Organization (WCLO) kicks off its first season in 2023 with teams from the NCWLL, NEWLL, MAWLL, and WCLL leagues. Teams from these 4 leagues will play an important role in the WCLO inaugural season as we move forward with an organization formed to put the teams and players first. The WCLO is an independently run organization consisting of non-varsity college lacrosse teams and leagues. The WCLO consists of a governing structure similar to the NCAA, eligibility rules, national and league awards, polls, and championship tournaments at the league and national levels.

The WCLO’s goal is to assist teams in having the best lacrosse seasons possible. In order to do so, the WCLO has worked countless hours to streamline processes such as: roster uploading, online roster verifications, simplify website use for each team, online confirmation of games between teams, simplify statistics and how they are input, streamline processes and online tools for league awards, and so much more. More information on rosters and eligibility can be found in the WCLO by-laws.

WCLO is striving for an open line for communication between the National board, league board, and teams. The focus is to help teams before, during, and after the season. WCLO understands that many teams are self-run and communication from season to season often is tricky. The goal is to make those transitions easier as new team board members step into their roles. WCLO values the input from teams and will work to adjust processes based on feedback from the teams and leagues.

Teams playing in the WCLO will not be restricted to playing only teams in the WCLO. We understand many teams are looking at different playing locations and competition levels. In order to continue to grow teams will be allowed to play non WCLO teams, however games outside of WCLO will not affect their standings with in the WCLO. We understand this is a concern as teams look at their rankings to determine if they are in the running for the National Tournament. WCLO will only be looking at games played with in the league to determine qualification for the tournament. More information in regard to the WCLO National Tournament will be released at a further date.

Teams playing in the WCLO will continue to follow the rules put forth by the NCAA with the exception of a shot clock.
